Federal, state, city and airport officials from Bangor, Maine will join officials of Pan American Airways to conduct a news conference and ceremonial ribbon cutting to celebrate Pan Am's maiden flight from Bangor International Airport on Wednesday March 1, 2000 at 8:30AM. The news event will take place on the second floor of Bangor International Airport's domestic terminal.
Scheduled passenger service between Bangor, Sanford/Orlando, FL and Portsmouth, NH will begin on March 1, 2000, with Flight No. 81 scheduled to depart at 9:40AM.
Pan Am will use the occasion of this first flight to detail Pittsburgh, PA service from Bangor, which will begin in May, as well as a Boston connection through a Portsmouth bus shuttle, which will begin in March. Schedules will be announced.
New Hampshire news availability will be held at 10:45AM, when
the Bangor flight arrives at Portsmouth. Pan Am officials will be
available to answer questions about the new Bangor service, and
to give details of Pittsburgh and Boston connections.
