Pan Am Express Service

-Announcement expected soon on Pan Am Express plans-

"Recently, Pan Am acquired 10 Jetstream 31 turbo prop aircraft. According to reports from Pan Am and published in the August 2000 edition of Airways, Pan Am will operate these aircraft throughout Florida from their Orlando/Sanford hub, as well as feeder flights between Canadian cities and Bangor, ME. Cities such as Key West, Ft. Myers, Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach are being considered as potential Pan Am Express destinations from Sanford. In addition, Pan Am has announced new commuter service in Worchester, MA, connecting the city with Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha's Vineyard. In addition, reports noted Pan Am's attempt to return service to Western Pennsylvania and the Pittsburgh area, possibly through Altoona, PA or Johnstown, PA with Pan Am Express/Boston-Maine. It appears the dilema is obtaining proper certification for Boston-Maine's commerical commuter operation. Boston-Maine previously operated scheduled-charter service between Pittsburgh and Harrisburg from November through February. The commuter carrier also operates the CASA-212 aircraft for the Pan Am Services subsidiary. A formal announcement for Pan Am Express operated by Boston-Maine is expected soon."
